Beauty DIY #2
So now that you have tried the Brown Sugar Honey Scrub, I am going to share one of my favorite cleansers. Just like the Scrub, You can find the ingredient around your home. If not its just a quick trip to the store - and cheap one too! My secret is powdered milk.
Milk Cleanser
Milk has plenty of health benefits, one of them is glowing skin. There are several nutrients in milk that can help your skin.
Lactic acid - is like an exfolient and has enzymes to help smooth the skin.
Amino acid - helps keep the skin moisturized.
Antioxidants - Helps prevent damage from the elements. It also contains protein which is important for tissue repair.
Cleanser How To
Put two tablespoons in a bowl and mix with one tablespoon of water. Place a hot cloth on your face and leave it for about a minute, this will open your pores. Now that your face is damp apply the mixture to your forehead, T-zone and chin, just like the Scrub. Leave sit for two minutes and gently rub in circular motion.
Anyone can use this scrub, but for those allergic to milk products be aware that It may cause an irritation. It is gentle enough you can use on a daily basis. Only make the required amount at the time as it does not store well.
This will leave your skin so soft, your going to love it!
Enjoy :)

Oscar Makeup Looks 2014
Well the Oscars are over now, but my fun is just beginning! I am not a big T.V watcher as I have two children in the house, but thankfully I was able to catch up with it on the web. The Oscars is a big night for makeup. Yes, there is best dressed, but really, the makeup I believe pulls it all together. Its what makes the stars shine.
Here are some hot trends from the 2014 Oscars!
Neutral - light on color but still very flattering

Winged eyeliner - a very classic look
Brows - Defining the eyebrows and keeping the rest of the face simple
Pop of color - Orangey lips or Pinks

Bold eyelashes - Thick dark lashes
Dark red lips- not the classic red but deeper
Dark Smokey eyes - Smokey browns make the eyes pop!

My favorite look at the Oscars this year would be defined brows. A lot of the time eyebrows are forgotten, but they are very important. Properly shaped eyebrows frame your face and draws the attention towards your eyes. They also make the face look complete.
Which look is your favorite? and which look would you most likely wear?

Beauty DIY
The first step to having great looking makeup is having great looking skin. Having healthy skin is just as important as eating healthy foods or exercising. For some of us we don’t know where to start, or feel the need to buy expensive products to get the job done. I am here to help you! I am going to share with you my favourite facial scrub.
Brown Sugar & Honey Scrub
Brown sugar helps scrub off the dead skin to generate new skin cells and isn’t as harsh as some salt scrubs because the grain is much smaller. It also contains glycolic acid which fights bacteria, and is a humectant, absorbing moisture from the environment and keeping it locked in.
Honey (raw or organic) has antibacterial properties which aid in healing acne, infections and wounds. It contains antioxidants and that can help clean free radicals out of your body and promote healthy skin. Honey also enhance hydration of your skin.
This scrub can be used on anyone, but for people with sensitive skin be careful not to scrub too hard. You can use it on your face or other dry problem areas like arms and legs. This scrub should not be used every day, only once a week or every couple of weeks, depending on your skin.
Scrub how to:
Combine half honey with half brown sugar, I used only a couple of tablespoons of each.
Apply scrub to forehead, cheeks, nose, chin and mouth. Do not apply to or around your eyes.
In circular motions gently rub the exfoliant around your face and down to your jaw line ( see face chart )
Wipe scrub off gently with the warm cloth, splash face with cool water.
Apply your moisturizer and ta-da! you have a beautiful glowing face that has been rid of dead skin. you will feel fresher for days to come!
If you really want to feel pampered, lock your self in the bathroom and soak in the tub afterward.. oh wait not everyone has young kids like I do!
Let me know what you think of this wonderful scrub. Check back for more on cleansing :)

Down To Business
I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel, winter is almost over and I am jumping for joy.
Don't get me wrong, I do love how the cold fresh air wakes you up in the morning, sitting by my warm cozy woodstove. And playing with my kiddies in the snow is the best! But Spring for me is almost like a new year, A fresh start! and when March is insight I am so happy!
Last year I started a vegetable garden, I had big dreams of this beautiful fruitful garden so I got to work. Boy it was hard! Although it didn't turn out exactly how I dreamt, I was successful. This year is going to be it! Today I went online and ordered my veggie seeds for this year. I ordered more because last year I found I didn't have enough of some things like carrots and beans, and also because for my upcoming birthday I am getting a juicer! I have been wanting one for a while now and am super excited that I'll be able to use my fresh garden veggies to make juice with.
For me, having the juicer will allow me to get more veggies/fruit into my diet, and my children's diet as well. It's also a great tool in achieving/ maintaining healthy skin. You can find more about that here :

And next week I will talk about achieving healthy skin, so keep posted!
Now I'm off to dream about gardens and makeup.. or gardens of makeup ;)

Newbie
Hello blogging world!
I am new to this so bear with me.
In the past year or so I've been getting to know me a bit better and trying to "find myself" as I am sure we all find ourselves at one point in our lives, and I found my self here!
Recently I have been trying to decide what I will be when I grow up, but I just seem to going back and forth from one idea to the next. Also having two young kids kind of puts things on hold for a bit so I decided to put some of my skills and knowledge that I already had to use.
Alas I am dusting off my makeup brushes! I wanted to do it for a while, but having recently moved to a small town in the valley I didn't think there would be much need. But surprisingly there are a ton of photographers and of course people are always getting married. So little by little I started getting things together. I made business cards, myself of course!(If anyone knows me, they know I am crafty and love DIY). My friend Carly sells Mary Kay and I had hosted a makeup party, showed a few ladies how to apply an everyday look and enjoyed the products! I have a new love - Mary Kay! The products look so fresh and bright on. I also got together with my sister Crissie, whom I don't get to see that often so that alone was nice. We teamed up and did a photo shoot. This turned out to be three days of makeup fun! My sister is unique and has a love for photography and art so I knew I was in good hands. we got lots of shots and both learned a lot. I am very happy with the end results :)
I am hoping there are more opportunities with makeup to come. I love being creative and making people feel and look great!
Thanks for reading!
